Light over everything
I plan around golden hours, soft fog and quiet mornings. The right light turns an ordinary street into a memory.
Photographer, wanderer, and full-time admirer of small beautiful things. I built My Pretty Belgium to show the country I love the way it deserves to be seen.
It started with an ordinary walk and an extraordinary light. A side street in Brussels I’d passed a hundred times suddenly glowed amber, and I reached for my camera. That single frame turned into a habit, the habit into a passion, and the passion into My Pretty Belgium.
I’m drawn to the quiet magic this country keeps tucking away — a courtyard behind a heavy wooden door, fog lifting off a canal, the exact minute the sun hits a row of stepped gabled rooftops. I photograph Belgium the way you’d describe a place you love to a close friend: honestly, warmly, and with a little wonder.
Through my second account, @downtown_colors, I explore the bolder, brighter side of the same world — the painted doors, the markets, the colour hiding in plain sight. Together they’re two halves of how I see: the soft and the vivid.
My north star is simple: make people feel something, and make it real enough that they can find it themselves.
I plan around golden hours, soft fog and quiet mornings. The right light turns an ordinary street into a memory.
No fake skies or borrowed places. What you see is what you’ll find — that trust is everything to my community.
A great image makes someone pause. A great story makes them pack a bag. I aim for the second one.

“I don’t want you to just like the photo. I want you to feel like you’ve already started planning the trip.”

If you look after a destination, a hotel or a brand with a beautiful corner of Belgium to share, I’d love to hear about it.
